# ACP
URL: /en-US/docs/acp

Implemented for ACP clients. The download page does not list a channel yet.

ACP (Agent Client Protocol) is implemented as `spirit-agent-acp` (`@spiritagent/acp-server`). It speaks stdio ndJSON, shares the same data directory and keyring as Desktop and the CLI, and can run `--setup` to connect a provider.

**The public download page does not list ACP yet.** Spirit Agent is still preparing to list it on the ACP registry.

## Temporary setup before listing [#temporary-setup-before-listing]

Until it is listed, install and finish setup with `npx`:

```bash
npx @spiritagent/acp-server --setup
```

Or point an ACP client (for example Zed) at the stdio entry:

```json
"agent_servers": {
  "Spirit Agent": {
    "command": "node",
    "args": ["path/to/packages/acp-server/dist/src/stdio-entry.js"]
  }
}
```

Authenticate with **Run in terminal**, finish `--setup`, then `authenticate` and `session/new`.
